What do you think?

Describe the process you took to present your scene. What went well? Not so well? What would you do differently next time you had to do a scene?

Johnathan and I practiced our scripts and aquired some props. We did good when it came to saying our lines loud and clear but we didn't do well when it came to memorizing our lines. Next time I will try to memorize my lines and I will try to put more emotion into my script.

Paranoia

Macbeths paronia is a direct consequence of his weak mental state and having betrayed his trusted king and his best friend. Macbeth can kill a man easy but he cant kill a man sneakily. He feels he betrayed these 2 men that are now dead and hes ruined a lot of lives in his drive for glory. It shows that Macbeth has a consience and is dieing inside from the guilt. He wish he never killed Duncan that day but its to late and he must keep moving forward or he'll be caught. Lady Macbeth on the other hand has no remorse and will kill many people to get on that throne. Macbeths paranoia is getting worst every day and I can see him getting to the point where he will admit what he has done.

So what is up with Macduff?

I think Macduff is plotting to assassinate Banguo with the help of Macbeth. Macbeth convinced Macduff to do it with false lies and Macduff is going to carry out the dark deed.

Ambition

I think Macbeth wants to be king of Scotland but he didn't have the brass to do it. He needed the mental support from his wife lady Macbeth which she did very well. I think she is the real brains behind the operation but if anything happens shes just the innocent wife. Shes smart and is putting on a good cover in case anything hits the fan. Macbeth's ambition is causing him to kill his king and his friends all to sit atop the throne.

Questions

I didn't really have a tough time asking the questions and I think I came up with some good ones.

The Bloody Play----- Which Witches

I think the male witches are the best of other option. If it were a actual witch that lived in a cave making potions then this story would have taken a more mythical approach. The nurse witches are good possibility but the male witches seem the most realistic. I think rumor was going around the soldiers and guards that someone was plotting to assassinate King Duncan and that it was going to happen soon. Maybe it was a prediction that was created just to convince Macbeth to do the deed.

Power

Power can definetly corrupt the mind. Countless rulers and people with some sort of echolon of power have gone down the wrong. end. Macbeth is a prime example of what we would call powe hungry. He strives to be the supreme leader and he will anyone in his way whether friend or trusted king. Duncan looked like a good king who had experience as being a king. He wasnt power hungry and wasn't trying to kill people at will. Macbeth and his greedy wife are going to detroy themselves eventually with the power greed.

Manliness

Manliness is something that was created by society. Society for the most part dictates who we are and how were supposed to act. Long before any of our births it was ethed into our forefathers minds of how a male and a female should act. A man according to popular belief is supposed to be the stronger of the sexes. He is supposed to be muscular, tough, or brave. MacBeth is showing his reasoning side rather than thinking with his sword. Hes reasoning the options which is a intelligent way at looking at things. Lady MacBeth may not beleive in a man being tough and commited to what he says hes going to do but she knows in mocking MacBeth with the wimpy allegations she'll get what she wants. He feels that shes testing his status as a male by calling him soft. So in essence her mocks are more powerful than reason itself.

Unseamed him from Nave to Chops

The Author had Macbeth win against MacDonwald because the winner was also the Hero. The story is about Scotland not Norway. Macbeth stood for Scotland and and MacDonwald stood for Norway. If the Norwegian leader won then Scotland would look like it would lose. These are romantic stories and the hero is also the winner in almost every case.

To act or not to Act

If someone sees a crime being done and doesnt do anything this is a crime in in itself. If you see someone being bullied and you dont step in or say anything then youve done wrong. If I saw someone steal some sneakers from a store I would definetly not get involved. It all depends on the situation and its a very difficult question. The person who doesnt act though did do wrong but should we punish them, I dont know.

Do you trust me

Is it possible to truly trust somebody. I dont think it is possible to truly trust someone. You can trust someone to the 99% percentile but ever to the fullest. Events can be put in place that can strain relationships whether between family members, spouses, or best friends. An example is if two best friends were marooned on a island in the middle of the Pacific. They have a limited amount of food. At a certain point the food comes down to a couple chicken wings and some fresh water. If one friend said that hes going into the island to look for food and told the other friend to not eat the entire meal even though thier both cannabalitic starving could he trust him. The friend would watch him dissapear into the jungle and then throw down all the food. Maybe say a bird came down and ate it. This is a drastic example but if you spread out you can see you can never truly trust anyone, even your parents at some point.

The fault behind Destiny

"Do Predictions come true because they were destined to become true or because people make them true because of what was predicted (Like a self-fufilling prophecy)"

Since destiny is impossible and there is no possible way that a greater being is out there watching over us and crafting our future then predictions are false. Predictions need destinies in order to succeed. Humans hold religion and thier gods very dear. For example the people of ancient Greece believed that the Prophet of Delphi could predict thier future if asked. Most of the time the predictions never happened but when they did happen it was either out of pure coincidence or other people shifting things around in order for that prediction to come true. For example a prohpet may say man that he will meet a wolf on the road outside Athens. There was no time given so it could occur anytime. The man sits on the road outside Athens for a very long time and 3 months later with a long beard grown he sees a wolf. He runs back to Athens screaming the prophet of Delphi was right and should be worshipped. The destiny theory is a thread of religion and shows how gullible people really are and how.
